Free at last was exceedingly proud to celebrate its 30th Anniversary of providing critically needed community and rehabilitation services to residents of San Mateo County.
On Friday, January 19th Free At Last hosted an all day event to commemorate the legacy and impact of its work in the community.
Over 250 people turned out for the event despite the rainy weather including staff, clients, donors, community neighbors and partnering agencies. They were treated to a festive and inspiring event which featured East Palo Alto Mayor, Lisa Gauthier as the keynote speaker.
Gauthier praised the agency’s long term commitment to its mission to rebuild the community from within by working with people suffering from substance use disorders (SUD) through it effective outpatient and residential programs that allow them to reclaim their lives, rebuild their relationships and foster economic self sufficiency.
Free at Last recently hired its new Executive Director, Gaynell Mays (see related story) who is dedicated to continuing the agency’s vital work to provide its services to those in need helping them towards a brighter future free from the bonds of addiction.
